If these walls could talk

I wish there was a way to have a sit down with the house itself. Get real and say, “Ok girl tell me everything”.

I’d love to know how it changed throughout the decades. Did it have a favorite room or design? Which crazy wallpaper was the best? What are the house’s secrets? Is it happy to have us as the new owners and does it like the changes we are making?

Normally putting walls up and filling in the gaps is something we don’t want to do in our lives. However, when it comes to a house it’s exactly the thing you want to do. Having strong exterior walls creates security and a safe place to dwell. The interior walls help to define the different rooms in the same way our personal style can define the many sides of us. Walls can ironically give us a sense of freedom by helping to create purpose for a space.

With that said, I’m just so excited we’ve turned a corner here. T.J. built new walls, and rebuilt other walls, so we know without a doubt our base is strong. Then the amazing drywall crew closed up the walls to create actual rooms. It’s so exciting I’m actually doing a little boogie dance as I type!

Fun Fact: We wrote secret messages to one another on the studs before the drywall was hung. It’s not likely they will be seen by others but I can assure you this home is built on love, hope, and big dreams.
