Just Floored

I have been swept off my feet! These new wood floors are even more stunning than the sample, which was lovely! Let me start by saying, when you get to the point in your home renovation that the floors are actually going in it’s a pretty remarkable feeling. It brings a sense of grounding and the end seems to be a little more in sight.

Here are the stats. We ordered this line from the awesome team at Your Flooring Warehouse. This beauty, from Coastline Hardwood, has 7 1/2” wide planks and the Sarasota Oak finish (I swear the Sarasota part is just a coincidence). We chose this coastal hue because it’s neutral enough to go with other wood tones but can stand on it’s own with the wow factor. We have several antique furniture pieces and didn’t want the woods to clash. Keeping the house classic with a modern twist is what we are aiming for.

I must brag too though because my favorite carpenter (yep that’s T.J.) installed this stunning floor himself with help from his dad and best friend. The floors seamlessly flow from one room the the next without the use of thresholds too. Seriously though, this guy can do anything! It was not an easy task but I sure hope he is proud of his hard work because I know I am. Whenever I look at these floors I’ll always think about the handsome strong carpenter that gave me the most beautiful place to stand on.
