Let’s lay it out
So, here’s the plan-bam. As you can see this is an airy and open ranch layout. We’ve made some fairly big adjustments. The most important adjustment is clearly the fact that I now have a bigger closet. What can I say, a gal needs her shoe space. Not to mention I want to feel like I’m getting dressed in the most glamorous boutique on Rodeo Drive just like Vivian in Pretty Woman…minus the prickly sales toads. Now I just need a makeover theme song! WAIT, focus Autumn! Back to the floorpan!! Right.
The old guest bath is now my closet and we’ve added a new guest bath between bedroom 2 and 3. The entrances for bedroom 2 and 3 have been moved to the new hallway near the guest bath. The closets in both bedrooms have been maximized. The hot water heater has been relocated from the laundry and a lovely little half bath off the pool is added connecting the pool/toilet/laundry together. The foyer, living and dining area are quite spacious now and spill nicely out to the lanai and pool. Also, by moving the old guest bath (now my new closet), we’ve made a true Primary Suite. There are two large closets and we’ve reconfigured the ensuite bath by adding a couple feet and altering its layout as well. There’s a gorgeous floor to ceiling window in the bathroom that I didn’t want to lose and thankfully T.J. moved things around (a la tetris style) for a perfect fit. Last but not least, the extra guest suite (complete with full bath and walk-in closet) actually only needs cosmetic updates. The guest suite will be unveiled at a later date while we focus on the main house first. So stay tuned for that.
As with any project, one must be flexible and anticipate unknown factors coming into play. However, I’d like to think we’ve got a pretty good design set up to keep us moving in the right direction. Hey T.J…When’s the house gonna be done?!
