built-in cinderella story

When we first saw this house we both knew the built-in had to stay. It’s just to the left when you walk in the front door. Besides being incredibly practical storage space, this built-in is a piece of the homes history. It’s a little reminder that after all the updating and renovation some things are worth preserving. Much like our fairytale friend, Cinderella, this beauty just needed a new look. With some fresh paint, wallpaper, new mother of pearl hardware, and shiny mirrors the neglected piece is revived and ready to be noticed.

While our intention was to make the home fit our needs and wants according to todays standards we still fell in love with the house the way it first was. Like a time capsule from 1970. Sometimes a home just needs a Fairy Godmother to make it shine and preserve it’s former glory.
